Tong Fong Low: Exceptional Chinese Cuisine in Oroville, CA

I grew eating at this place, I knew it as Charlie’s. I now live in Alabama. My mom really wanted their food, and still is local. I called to make a payment over the phone and was greeted by the sweetest person. Jamie not only told me they don’t take over the phone payments but walked me through step by step on their website to make sure my mom got the meal she wanted. The online menu didn’t have what she wanted, and Jamie took the time to walk me through how to make the right changes to make the meal special for my mom. My mom finished her meal and called me to tell me it was soooo delicious. Growing up the staff and atmosphere was always delightful. I look forward to visiting sometime soon to thank the staff that went above and beyond for my mom’s order. My usual is the broccoli beef with low mien noodles. My mom and bonus dad LOVE their black peppered beef, orange chicken, bbq pork fried rice, and their bbq pork noodles. 10/10 would highly recommend them any day. Was a bit skeptical about the price, 5 items rang out to $87 and changed. But turns out it was all worth it. Tons of food! Big pieces of actual meat. Great flavors, the Honey walnut PRAWNS were the best I ever had, everything was fresh and uniquely flavored. I love having to pick fresh garlic and ginger out of my teeth after a meal like that. Seriously no reason to go anywhere else if you are in the area.

Excellent food and service at this classic Chinese restaurant in old town Oroville! We received a friendly greeting at the door and were served hot tea and water as soon as we sat down. My wife and I shared the chicken noodle soup, bbq pork egg foo young, and the Tong Fong Low special lunch and it was all super good! We love hot mustard and they serve it in a squeeze bottle! I’m an egg foo young lover and I think this was the best I’ve ever had, fluffy and light, piled high with bbq pork.

I'm never disappointed going to Tong Fong Low's. The food is fresh, the vegetables are always cooked perfectly and they have such tasty options. Something for everyone. We are vegetarian and never have issues finding something to drool over. We are huge fans of the C family dinner for 3. Mushroom foo Yung is scrumptious!

First timing eating here last night (take-out). Great portion sizes, so enough food for 3 people for two meals! The sesame chicken is some of the best I've had, and the vegetable chow mein was delightful with lots of green goodies!

There is a good reason this place has been open 100+ years; I'd bet it's as good as the day they opened because it's consistently on point. This spot has selection without being overwhelming, great flavors fast service, and is reasonably priced for the portion. The building could use a renovation, but it's clean and doesn't smell like an old building. I'll be eating here anytime I'm in Oroville.

I never knew what the fuss was about this place, and I had been trying for years to fill the void left by Teriyaki Express and I finally found it. This really is the best Chinese restaurant in Oroville. I've never seen such a massive plate of food, and the food came out so fast and was actually high quality. Recommend this place 100%

We got the B dinner for 2, and still brought 3 full containers if food home. Food was served in a very timely manner, our server was very attentive even with how busy they were our water glasses did not run dry, when the check was delivered payment was taken and returned right away. Thank you for the good food and amazing service.
